Child Safety Standards

1. Adults-Only Platform

before is a dating and social events app designed exclusively for adults aged 18 and older. The app is rated 17+ on the Apple App Store and 18+ on Google Play. All features of the platform - including event discovery, check-in, browsing attendees, matching, and messaging - are intended solely for use by adults.

2. Age Verification

During the account creation process, every user is required to provide their date of birth. Our system automatically calculates the user's age and rejects any registration attempt from individuals under 18 years of age. Users who do not meet the minimum age requirement cannot create an account or access any features of the app.

3. No Data Collection from Minors

We do not knowingly collect, store, or process personal data from anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that a user is under 18 or that we have inadvertently collected data from a minor, we will promptly delete their account and all associated data.

4. Zero Tolerance for Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE)

before maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy toward child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in any form. This includes, but is not limited to, the sharing, distribution, or solicitation of child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming behavior, or any other conduct that endangers minors. Any account found to be involved in such activity will be immediately suspended and permanently banned, and reported to the relevant authorities.

5. Content Moderation

All user-generated content on before - including profile photos, bio text, and chat messages - is subject to our content moderation policies. Users can report inappropriate content or behavior directly within the app using our in-app reporting feature. Our moderation team reviews reports promptly and takes appropriate action, including content removal, account suspension, or permanent bans where necessary.

6. How to Report Concerns

If you encounter any content or behavior that may involve the exploitation of minors, or if you have any child safety concerns, please report it immediately through one of the following channels:

• In-App Reporting: Use the report button available on user profiles and in chat conversations to flag content or users directly within the app.

All reports are treated with the highest priority and confidentiality.

7. Cooperation with Law Enforcement

We cooperate fully with law enforcement authorities and relevant governmental agencies in the investigation and prosecution of any suspected child exploitation or abuse. When required by law or when we have reasonable grounds to believe that a child is at risk, we will report relevant information to the appropriate authorities without delay.

8. Legal Compliance

We comply with all applicable child safety laws and regulations, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as it pertains to the protection of minors, the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG), the EU Digital Services Act (DSA), and all other applicable national and international regulations regarding the protection of children online.
