Vancouver Pub Quizzes and Trivia Nights: Team Up and Meet People

Also in: HamburgMunichLondonChicagoManchesterEdinburghBristolDublinSydneyMelbourneBrisbane

Nine quiz nights in Vancouver and Burnaby: in Kitsilano, the West End, Gastown, Downtown, East Vancouver, Hastings-Sunrise and at UBC. When and where they are, how you sign up and what they cost.

A quiz team of four in their late twenties and thirties at a long wooden communal table in a high-ceilinged room with exposed timber beams on a fall evening, rain jackets hung over the backs of their chairs; one woman holds a small whiteboard to her chest with a sly grin so the next table can't see the answer, one man taps a marker against his chin, two others lean in laughing, warm string lights under the beams

A pub quiz is an easy way to meet people in Vancouver: a set evening, a small team at one table and time to talk between rounds. Most of the ones here call it trivia. We only list quiz nights that announce their dates on their own page or channel, or on the page of the venue that hosts them.

Entry is free (2026), and the evening is 19 and over. The listing gives no team size and says nothing about signing up. AMS, Trivia Night at The Gallery

Question Authority (West End)

According to the quiz organizers' weekly schedule, Question Authority runs a weekly quiz on Mondays at the Bayside Lounge, 1755 Davie Street in the West End; the lounge gives 8 pm as the start. Seating starts at 7 pm, the quiz at 7:30 pm, and it runs until about 9:15 pm. Playing is free (2026). At Granville, reserve a table for your team; in Brentwood, tables are first come, first served. For theme nights, which Fandom Trivia lists on its Eventbrite pages, the organizer highly recommends signing up on Eventbrite, and at Granville guests without a table booking join a standby waitlist if all tables are reserved. Fandom Trivia allows six people per team without a penalty; larger teams lose one point for each extra person. Fandom Trivia at The Rec Room on Eventbrite, Fandom Trivia, all events

After the quiz

Between rounds and after the answers are read out is the best time to talk. Simple openers work: "Do you come here often?", "Which question annoyed you most?", "Do you know another good quiz?" And if the team got on well, arrange to meet at the next quiz.

For people who run a quiz

If you run a quiz like these, you know the moment after the answers when the teams head off without swapping numbers. before is a web app for organisers. At the start you show the QR code on your phone; guests check in with it in their browser, without installing an app, and anyone who likes takes a selfie. The day after, the afterparty is open from 10 am to 8 pm. Anyone who shared a selfie sees everyone else who shared one there and can press the button for meeting again for up to five people. At 8 pm everyone finds out at the same time who wants to see each other again, and only then does a chat open. One-sided wishes stay invisible, and nobody receives a rejection. Nobody needs a profile. More on the page before for organisers.

The afterparty opens after your event

When you check in at an event powered by before, you get the link by email, no later than 24 hours after it ends.
