Also in: BerlinHamburgCologneMunichViennaZurichParis (French)Barcelona (Spanish)Rio de Janeiro (Portuguese)
Ten supper clubs and shared tables in London, from dinners with strangers in various restaurants to long tables in Hackney and East Dulwich, a shared dinner in Walthamstow, a chef's table in Holborn, cookery classes and a supper club in a community garden. Where, how often, what it costs.

At a shared table you sit next to people you have never met, and the food gives you the first thing to talk about. We only list tables that announce their dinners on their own page or channel.

In London the dinners are on Wednesdays and Fridays at 7 pm, in restaurants from Soho to London Bridge; the app shows you the place twelve hours before, and bookings close 13 hours before the start. Booking needs a membership whose price depends on the plan and is shown in the app before you pay; you pay for your own food and drinks at the venue. Timeleft London
KF.Social (various restaurants)
KF.Social books a table for six: you and five others matched by age and shared interests, for people who want to make friends in London. You book one dinner at a time, without a membership, on the website or in the app, and the restaurant and its location are shared six hours before. A booking costs £15, or £5 with a premium membership; food and drinks are paid separately. KF.Social

The Hackney Supper Club (Hackney Road)
A series of one-off dinners inside The Hackney on Hackney Road, each with a guest chef, several courses and paired wines, served at one long table. The venue plans one a month. Tickets usually cost £75 to £95 a head, with a cocktail, dinner and paired wines. According to the venue, most guests come alone or as a pair. The venue's own supper clubs go to the mailing list 48 hours before public release, and seats only go on public sale if any are left; partner dinners may be announced when public booking opens. For people who host a supper club
If you host a table like these, you know the moment at the door when guests leave without swapping numbers. before is a web app for organisers. When guests arrive you show the QR code on your phone; they check in with it in their browser, without installing an app, and anyone who likes takes a selfie. The day after, the afterparty is open from 10 am to 8 pm. Anyone who shared a selfie sees everyone else who shared one there and can press the button for meeting again for up to five people. At 8 pm everyone finds out at the same time who wants to see each other again, and only then does a chat open. One-sided wishes stay invisible, and nobody receives a rejection. Nobody needs a profile. More on the page before for organisers.
