Zurich Supper Clubs: Dinner with Strangers
Also in: BerlinHamburgCologneMunichViennaLondonParis (French)Barcelona (Spanish)Rio de Janeiro (Portuguese)
Eight supper clubs and shared tables in Zurich, from a monthly neighbourhood lunch and a queer open table to tavolata dinners and dinners with strangers in restaurants. Where, how often, what it costs.

At a shared table you sit next to people you have never met, and the food gives you the first thing to talk about. Three of the tables below are called a tavolata, the Italian word for a meal shared at one big table. We only list tables that the organisers announce on their own page, with a source from 2026. Dates and venues change, so check the organiser's page before you go.

After dinner
Simple openers work: "Have you been to one of these before?", "Where have you eaten well in Zurich lately?", "Can you recommend another table like this?" And if you got on well with someone, suggest going to the next dinner together.

For people who host a supper club
If you host a table like these, you know the moment at the door when guests leave without swapping numbers. before is a web app for organisers. When guests arrive you show the QR code on your phone; they check in with it in their browser, without installing an app, and anyone who likes takes a selfie. The day after, the afterparty is open from 10 am to 8 pm. Anyone who shared a selfie sees everyone else who shared one there and can press the button for meeting again for up to five people. At 8 pm everyone finds out at the same time who wants to see each other again, and only then does a chat open. One-sided wishes stay invisible, and nobody receives a rejection. Nobody needs a profile. More on the page before for organisers.
