Los Angeles Run Clubs: Where to Run and Meet People

Also in: BerlinHamburgCologneMunichZurichParisMadridBarcelonaMexico CityNew YorkSão Paulo (Portuguese)

Eight run clubs in Los Angeles, on weekday evenings and early on Saturdays, from Santa Monica and Playa Vista to Griffith Park, Silver Lake and Koreatown. Where they meet, who they're for, and how to join.

Runners at golden hour on a dirt trail in the hills after an evening run, dry grass and sage around them and the city spread out in the haze far below; two laugh with their hands on their hips, one sits on a boulder catching her breath, one drinks from a water bottle

Run clubs are an easy way to meet people in Los Angeles: a set time, a run side by side, often some time together afterwards. We only list groups that announce their runs on their own page or channel.

The run clubs one by one

Midnight Runners Los Angeles (Santa Monica)

The Los Angeles crew of an international running network. On Mondays the group meets at 6:45 pm at Library Alehouse in Santa Monica for a 7 pm start: a free 5 km bootcamp run (3.1 miles) with music, followed by time to hang out. The Heylo listing gives no fixed pace: you run at your own pace, there is someone to run with whatever your speed, and the club asks that you can comfortably run 5 km. Dates are posted on Heylo, where you register because spots are limited, and the weekly run is also on Strava. Midnight Runners Los Angeles on Heylo

Hollywood Run Club (Bronson Avenue and Griffith Park)

A local trail and social run every Tuesday at 6:30 pm from The Oaks Gourmet, 1915 N Bronson Ave. The winter route on the club's page goes 6.8 miles (about 11 km) through Griffith Park. The group says everyone is welcome and that it regroups along the way; you don't need to sign up or pay. Hollywood Run Club

Los Angeles Running Club (Playa Vista)

A nonprofit club for running and walking. On Mondays at 6:45 pm it meets at Playa Vista Elementary School for 3 to 5 miles (about 5 to 8 km), or a walk, and the club says all paces are welcome. On Wednesdays at 7 pm there is a track session at Santa Monica High School. Membership for the 2026-27 season, from March 2026 to June 2027, costs $65, but the club says you don't need to be a member to take part. Los Angeles Running Club

Hit Your Stride: lululemon Run Club (Glendale)

The events calendar of The Americana at Brand lists this run every Wednesday from 6:30 to 7:30 pm, starting and finishing at the lululemon store. You choose a 3-mile run (about 5 km) or a 1-mile walk (about 1.6 km), and all fitness levels are welcome. The listing gives no price and no sign-up details. Hit Your Stride: lululemon Run Club

L.A. Leggers (Santa Monica)

A running and walking club with a seasonal marathon training program from August to March. On Saturdays the group meets at 6:45 am at 1450 Ocean Ave. in Santa Monica; the homepage says the time changes later in the season, and the distances of the training runs vary, so check the club's page. Pace groups range from walkers and beginners to experienced marathoners. To join, you need a season membership and registration; the registration page lists $95 for the 2026-27 season, so check the current fee and whether registration is open before you join. L.A. Leggers

LISTA powered by BlacklistLA (Echo Park)

BlacklistLA describes LISTA as a women's running group that welcomes all levels and backgrounds. It meets in Echo Park on Tuesdays at 7 pm, and the BlacklistLA calendar lists the Tuesday runs. The pages give no distance, price or RSVP details. LISTA powered by BlacklistLA

Silver Lake Track Club (Silver Lake)

The club says all its runs are free and open to all abilities and experience levels. The Tuesday evening run is an easy 3 miles (about 5 km) around the Silver Lake Reservoir, starting at 7 pm from the Red Lion Tavern, followed by time together on the patio. The weekly schedule also lists an 8-mile run (about 13 km) in Griffith Park and a track session on Thursdays at 7:30 pm in Burbank. The website says no special sign-up is needed, while the club's Strava page says you RSVP and show up, so check the listing for the run you choose. Times can change with the season, so check the schedule before you go. Silver Lake Track Club, run schedule

Koreatown Run Club (Koreatown)

On Mondays at 7 pm the club runs 3 or 5 miles (about 5 or 8 km) from Wilshire/Oxford, and on Thursdays at 8 pm 3 or 5 miles from Love Hour on Western Avenue. You don't need to sign up for the regular weekly runs; for special events, check each event's listing. Saturday meeting points are announced each week on Instagram. Koreatown Run Club, schedule

After the run

Simple openers work: "Do you run this route often?", "How long have you been coming?", "Are you training for something?" If the group posts on Heylo, Strava or Instagram, follow it there for updates. And if you hit it off with someone, suggest running together next week.

For people who lead a run club

If you lead a run club like these, you know the moment after the coffee when everyone heads off without swapping numbers. before is a web app for organisers. Before the start you show the QR code on your phone; runners check in with it in their browser, without installing an app, and anyone who likes takes a selfie. The day after, the afterparty is open from 10 am to 8 pm. Anyone who shared a selfie sees everyone else who shared one there and can press the button for meeting again for up to five people. At 8 pm everyone finds out at the same time who wants to see each other again, and only then does a chat open. One-sided wishes stay invisible, and nobody receives a rejection. Nobody needs a profile. More on the page before for organisers.

The afterparty opens after your event

When you check in at an event powered by before, you get the link by email, no later than 24 hours after it ends.
