Toronto Run Clubs: Where to Run and Meet People

Also in: BerlinHamburgCologneZurichParisMadridBarcelonaNew YorkLos AngelesSydneySão Paulo (Portuguese)

Eight run clubs in Toronto, before work, after work and on weekends, from Front Street and Bloor Street to Parkdale and the ravine trails. Where they meet, who they're for, how to join.

Runners catching their breath on a wooden footbridge over a shallow creek in a wooded city ravine on a bright autumn morning after their run; one man laughs with his foot up on the railing, one woman holds out a water bottle, one stretches her leg at the railing, one rests his hands on his knees, red and gold maple leaves on the trees and on the planks

Run clubs are an easy way to meet people in Toronto: a set time, a run side by side, often a coffee afterwards. We only list groups that announce their runs on their own page or channel.

The run clubs one by one

Midnight Runners Toronto (STACKT Market, Bathurst Street)

On Tuesdays, runners meet at 7 pm at STACKT Market on Bathurst Street and start at 7:30 pm for a 7 km social run with music and exercise stops along the way; the Toronto page describes these bootcamp runs and their social stops, with time to talk afterwards. The group welcomes newcomers. Its group page asks that you can comfortably run at least 6 km, and its current bootcamp listing asks that you can run the full 7 km without walking, with a cut-off pace of 7 minutes per kilometre. The runs are free, and you RSVP on Heylo (2026). Midnight Runners Toronto

The Runners Shop Run Club (Bloor Street West)

The running shop at 374 Bloor St W holds a run on Saturdays at 8:30 am, 5 to 6 km, and it is free (2026). The page calls it relaxed and social, and the group usually goes for coffee afterwards. It also gives a pace window of about 5:30 to 6:30 minutes per kilometre. You can simply show up, or sign up for free through the Six Star Journey the page mentions. The Runners Shop Run Club

Frontrunners Toronto (Barbara Hall Park)

The group describes itself as an inclusive 2SLGBTQIA+ community. It meets in Barbara Hall Park, 519 Church St, on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:15 pm and on Saturdays at 9 am. According to its come run with us page, all experience levels are welcome and runners split into groups by distance and level; you just show up. Its FAQ asks that, before you join a regular group run, you are comfortable covering 5 km at a social pace of around 6:30 to 7 minutes per kilometre, with short breaks. The regular meet-ups page gives route options of 5, 6, 8 and 10 km. You can try the runs first: the club encourages people who come more than three times to consider a membership, which costs $30 for a calendar year, or $20 for the rest of 2026 (2026). Frontrunners Toronto

University of Toronto Run Club (King's College Circle)

A university club whose page says that people who are not members of the University of Toronto are welcome too, that all paces can join and that you don't need to register. Runs start at the UC Steps on Front Campus, King's College Circle. The club page gives Wednesdays at 7 pm for 5 km and Saturdays at 10 am for coffee runs of 5 km or more; its Strava club also lists a Monday run at 7 pm, 5 km. The two pages differ on the days, so check Strava before you go. No price is given. University of Toronto Run Club

sparQ runners (meeting point announced each week)

On its Strava club, the group welcomes runners with the words "All Queers & paces welcome". It runs on Thursdays at 7 pm, and the route is announced on Mondays; the group's pages name no fixed meeting point or distance, so check the weekly announcement. Drop-ins are free, according to its page (undated), and you don't need to sign up. sparQ runners

Toronto Trail Runners (Crothers Woods and Evergreen Brick Works)

An open trail running group with three weekly runs; you don't need to sign up for the regular runs. On Tuesdays at 6:30 pm the run is 5 to 7 km, first-time trail runners are welcome and walking breaks are fine; it usually starts in Crothers Woods or Charles Sauriol Park. On Wednesdays at 6:30 pm the group runs 8 to 12 km from Crothers Woods, Edwards Gardens or Charles Sauriol Park, and for people new to trails the club recommends the Tuesday run. The weekday meeting points vary and are announced on the club's Instagram. On Saturdays at 8 am it meets at Evergreen Brick Works, usually for 9 to 12 km. No price is given for the regular runs. BlackToe Running, Monday Morning Run (The Well, Front Street West)

The running shop's weekly community runs are open to all, with no registration, and free, according to the website (undated). The Monday Morning Run starts at 6:30 am at BlackToe in The Well, 486 Front St W, the address on the website and in the text of the current event: about 60 minutes in total, roughly 30 minutes out and then back, measured in time rather than distance, so no distance is given. The meeting spot field of that event on the shop's Strava club shows another address, so check the meeting point in the current event listing before you go; route details are there too. After the run

Simple openers work: "Do you run this route often?", "How long have you been coming?", "Are you training for something?" If the group posts on Heylo, Strava or Instagram, follow it there for updates. And if you got on well with someone, suggest running together next week.

For people who lead a run club

If you lead a run club like these, you know the moment after the coffee when everyone heads off without swapping numbers. before is a web app for organisers. Before the start you show the QR code on your phone; runners check in with it in their browser, without installing an app, and anyone who likes takes a selfie. The day after, the afterparty is open from 10 am to 8 pm. Anyone who shared a selfie sees everyone else who shared one there and can press the button for meeting again for up to five people. At 8 pm everyone finds out at the same time who wants to see each other again, and only then does a chat open. One-sided wishes stay invisible, and nobody receives a rejection. Nobody needs a profile. More on the page before for organisers.

The afterparty opens after your event

When you check in at an event powered by before, you get the link by email, no later than 24 hours after it ends.
