How to find the right club

  • Pace: At about 6:30 to 7:00 per kilometre, the Pankow group of the Female Run Club fits. Slower, try Slow Poke or parkrun, where walking is allowed. Otherwise ask the club first.
  • Push: For faster sessions, look at Midnight Runners, Mikkeller's Track Tuesday or the track sessions at PACE.
  • Time: Early risers have RUN-N-RAVE on Thursdays, parkrun and Queer Running Club on Saturdays, Blend and the Pankow group of the Female Run Club on Sundays.
  • Group: PACE and Girl Brunch Run address FLINTA*. The Female Run Club describes itself as a community for women. RUN-N-RAVE is FLINTA-led and open to everyone. Queer Running Club and the Frontrunners are queer groups.
  • No one left behind: At parkrun a tail walker stays at the back. Elsewhere, ask before the run whether someone stays with the slowest runners.
  • Sign-up: The Female Run Club (Eventbrite), Midnight Runners (Heylo) and parkrun (one-time registration) need it; for others, check the event.

After the run

Coffee after the run: the easiest moment to get talking.

Simple openers work: "Is this your usual route?", "How long have you been coming?", "Are you training for something?" If the club has a WhatsApp or Telegram group, join it; that is where extra runs get arranged. And if you got on well with someone, suggest running together next week.

The afterparty opens after your evening
