Three pub quizzes, games at a community centre, an evening for students, German practice, dinner with strangers, an open neighbourhood meet-up and a running group: real ways to meet people in Stuttgart.

Stuttgart has plenty of regular meet-ups, from a Monday evening pub quiz to a Wednesday social run, and if you go regularly, you can see the same people again. This guide sorts the options by type, with concrete examples. We only list what the organisers describe on their own pages. Times change, so check the organiser's own page before you go.

Options by type
Pub quizzes
At a quiz you have something to do and talk about straight away. The Unithekle, Allmandring 17, on the Vaihingen campus, runs a pub quiz on the last Monday of the month from 19:00, with no sign-up needed. It describes itself as "Von Studis. Für Alle" (by students, for everyone), and it does not say that the quiz is only for students.
The Auld Rogue, Hauptstraße 57, in Vaihingen lists a quiz night of three rounds on Mondays at 20:30 in its weekly plan. The page does not specify the language or price, or explain whether you need to book; if in doubt, ask at the pub beforehand.
At the Ritterstüble, Ritterstraße 7, in Heslach, the Ritter Quiz takes place every week, on Tuesdays according to the events calendar. The Ritterstüble recommends booking a table beforehand by phone or email. The page does not give the language or entry fee.
Games
At the Stadtteiltreff Oase, Auricher Straße 34A, people play simple games and classics once a month in autumn, on Wednesdays from 16:00 to 18:00, and no experience is needed. You sign up on the Eveeno platform, and the organiser covers the costs (2026). The dates are on its page.
Languages and students
The Welcome Club of the Welcome Center Stuttgart is for German and international students and meets once a month on Mondays from 19:00 to 21:00. The venue depends on the format: the quiz night with mixed teams at the Weltcafé on Charlottenplatz, the language night for speaking German at the Globales Klassenzimmer on the first floor of the same building, and the cultural night at other places in Stuttgart. Sign up with the Welcome Center beforehand and check the venue for your evening.
At Stuttgart German Practice, you practise speaking German with others. Beginners and advanced learners are welcome. German is the main language, and English can help when you get stuck. The group meets mostly on Saturdays, sometimes on Thursdays, at changing places in the centre, such as the Begegnungsraum at Breitscheidstraße 2f. According to the group, regular sessions cost €2, and special events may differ (2026); the dates are on Meetup.
Dinner with strangers
Timeleft brings groups of four to six strangers together for dinner at a restaurant in Stuttgart on Wednesdays at 19:00. You sign up on your own and are placed in a group, and the app shows you the venue beforehand. To book, you need a subscription whose price depends on the plan you choose; food and drinks are paid separately (2026).
The neighbourhood
The Stadtteilhaus Stammheim, Korntaler Straße 1A, invites everyone to an open meet-up without signing up, on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:00 to 12:00. The neighbourhood café opens on Fridays from 10:00, and every other Tuesday from 15:00 people play cards. There is also a lunch for €5, or €2 with a Bonuscard (2026). The website gives conflicting information on when the café closes and whether you need to book lunch; if in doubt, ask at the centre.
Running
A fixed time, a shared route and a chat afterwards. The HOAM.Sportsclub invites runners of all levels to a social run every Wednesday and announces the runs in its group on Heylo. The public group page does not give a fixed meeting point; check there or ask in the group before your first run.
Going alone
Pick one format and go three times before you judge it. The first evening is often the most awkward, and every time you return, you are more likely to see familiar faces. A shared activity can make it easier to start a conversation by giving you something to talk about: the quiz question, the game, the language.
Good openers are deliberately ordinary: "Is this your first time too?", "How did you find out about it?", "Do you play here often?" Ask one follow-up question and listen to the answer.
Making plans to meet again
A good conversation does not turn into a second meeting on its own. Before you leave, suggest something concrete: "Are you coming to the quiz again next Tuesday?" or "I'm going to the social run on Wednesday, want to come?" A specific suggestion is easier to answer than "We should do something sometime".
Try it this week
- Pick one format from the table above
- Put the date in your calendar and check it on the organiser's page
- Arrive five minutes early and talk to one person
- Before you leave, suggest a specific plan to meet again
For organisers
If you host evenings like these, you know the moment: people get on well and then lose touch. before is a web app for organisers. Guests check in at the door with a QR code in their browser, without installing an app, and anyone who likes takes a selfie. The day after, the afterparty is open from 10 am to 8 pm. Anyone who shared a selfie sees everyone else who shared one there and can press the button for meeting again for up to five people. At 8 pm everyone finds out at the same time who wants to see each other again, and only then does a chat open. One-sided wishes stay invisible, and nobody receives a rejection. Nobody needs a profile. More on the page before for organisers.
